Principal's Message

Dear Adams Family,

I am excited to begin the 2016-2017 school year as your new principal!  I started my career in Kingsport City Schools as a math teacher at Robinson Middle School.  Prior to my new role at John Adams, I served as principal of Kennedy Elementary.  While I was not born in Kingsport, it has always been my home and my husband and I are proud to raise our three boys here.  I am a product of Kingsport City Schools, and I am blessed to have the opportunity to give back to a school system that gave so much to me!

At John Adams, we are committed to the mission of Kingsport City Schools to provide all students with a world-class and student-focused education that ensures college and career readiness.  We have worked hard this summer to prepare our minds and facility for a new school year and are eager to have the students return.  Our desire is to transform teaching and learning to better engage students in the 21st century classroom.  I strongly believe that every child can learn and achieve the highest level of academic success!

As your new principal, I hope to bring a sense of excitement and engagement to the John Adams community.  One of the goals of KCS is to engage families and the community.  Family engagement events are vital to the success of a school and help build a culture centered on students and families.  Therefore, we value, welcome, and encourage your active engagement in your child’s educational journey. I look forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure the students of John Adams Elementary experience a student-focused and world class education.

Good communication is key to success and building relationships.  Please feel free to contact me any time via email (ccfree@k12k.com) or phone (378-1400).  I hope you enjoy the final weeks of your summer break and I look forward to an exciting new school year.  Together we will make this school year the best one yet!

Sincerely,
