Adams Elementary School and Robinson Middle School were both named national winners of the 10th Annual Trex Plastic Film Recycling Challenge, a program designed to help educate students about the importance of recycling.

The 2017 district-level Teachers of the Year award winners are Todd Wagner (grades Pre-K–4), Marsha Buck (grades 5–8), and Joanna Nash (grades 9–12).
