Three Kingsport City Schools elementary schools have been named among Tennessee’s best schools, announced as 2018 Reward Schools today by the Tennessee Department of Education.

Cindy Bellamy, John Adams Elementary teacher has been appointed to the Tennessee Secretary of State's Civic Education and Engagement Advisory Committee

Adams Elementary School and Robinson Middle School were both named national winners of the 10th Annual Trex Plastic Film Recycling Challenge, a program designed to help educate students about the importance of recycling.

The 2017 district-level Teachers of the Year award winners are Todd Wagner (grades Pre-K–4), Marsha Buck (grades 5–8), and Joanna Nash (grades 9–12).
